**, that would be great if you can do that . I had been thinking of copying/pasting and combining both in one thread at the nursery; is that something you could do (keeping the chronological order of when Joey arrived, etc.)?? Butchie and Joey would be a great title .
Both boys are doing fine. Butchie opened his eyes a few hours before that video, Marty. They literally popped open during his 7pm feeding Monday (3/28) night!! Monday had started out sad, so that was a definite pick me up .
Butchie is starting to pee and poo on his own. He scared me tonight though; forgot how quiet and serious they get when they go. At least Joey is; he kinda freaked me out last week. Butchie even acts like he might be a bit off and I spook though. Joey I don't panic quite as much, because he is older, but I worry about him too. Poor boy is tired of me telling him to eat carefully, I am sure (and he does eat carefully, rocking back and forth as he does!!)!!
As of this morning, he weighed 126 grams! Sound about right for a 5 week old fox squirrel? He takes 20-26 cc's most days. Anywhere from 4 to 4.5 cc's each feeding. I gave him 5 cc's a couple times today; not sure, that seems like so much? His appetite is very good, and he gains usually 4-5 grams/day (only 2 this morning, but that's not common). He went 8 hours last night when my alarm didn't wake me . Usually it's about 5 or 6 hours at night.
I have pictures/video coming in my next post. I am hoping his development/coordination are good for his age? He has been less wobbly and more active since opening his eyes Monday. He can climb to my shoulder; he can also climb up my arm. He likes to be held, cuddled, played and wrestled with; likes to chew on my fingers . He gives kisses and sniffs me to see where I have been, and climbs all over me .
Given that he opened his eyes on March 28th, I counted back 5 weeks to give him a birthday of February 21 . I don't know if they open their eyes right at day 35 . Scary thing is with Joey being at least a month older, he arrived in January? Seems so cold to have baby squirrellies that young . Course, apparently the feral pigeon I rescued 5+ years ago was born in December .

Hey very cool, and my desktop shortcut links still work too . How very cool to be able to update in one thread. Especially with my computer wanting to act up sometimes.
Butchie weighed in at 133 grams today (weighed appx 69 grams 3 weeks ago today)
Joey weighed in at 210 grams today (weighed appx 162 grams 8 days ago)
Sound about right for Joey? I think Butchie is doing pretty good. Working him up to 5cc's per feeding. Butchie peed on his own this morning, so glad he is starting to do that bacause he really fights me at potty time!! I still stimulate after every feeding but he would have none of that this morning .
How many cc's should they be getting each feeding (and per day)?? Joey will take up to 10; usually around 7 or 8, and 30-40/day, plus whatever foods he nibbles on his own. Butchie is at 4-5 cc's each feeding, 20-25 cc's/day.
Butchie still spooks me every so often (apparently as instructed by the outside squirrels who are no doubt getting back at me for various apple tree incedents last year). This morning after his 3rd syringe he got real quiet and still. He did finish the rest of his breakfast, taking 4.5 cc's. Then was quiet in his cage, not sleeping, just still. Then he went to sleep but it was an hour before he curled up Butchie style. Maybe the formula was too cold, maybe he was too? I had problems getting it the right temp early this morning (around 6:30). Joey's warmed up nice and he ate well. Butchie does this every so often, scares the beejeebers outta me .
